Godwin Jackson Akpan, a.k.a. Sir Wilker Jackson, was born on February 22, 1967. He is an Akwa Ibom State native and comes from Mbak Akpan Ekpenyong in the Etoi Clan, Uyo Local Goverment Area. He is married to Glory Godwin Jackson and lives with his wife and three sons.
The Uyo-born music legend and HighLife king reportedly began his musical career in 1990, according to the 2020 Akwa Ibom Celebrate Series. He later joined the Dove Band, which was run by Mr. Patrick Udoh, the late Rasman Maxwell Udo’s brother.
Sir Wilker Jackson proceeded to further develop his skills under the great Ette Ntia as a vocalist in his Ette Ntia and the Eastern Sensation Band after having received some voice instruction and learned the fundamentals of music while performing with the Dove Band ensemble.
In 2001, Sir Wilker Jackson issued his debut song collection, titled “Mkpö Urua Mma.” This CD quickly sold out since it was so well-liked both inside and outside of Akwa Ibom State.
